In the busy world we live in, it is important to take a time out and quiet your mind to attain peace and tranquility. You can calm down your mind with meditation and speed up our actions more efficiently and quickly.
Meditation is an ancient technique that has been practiced for hundreds of years in the East and has developed into an important practice of successful people in the West.
Difference between Meditation and Prayer
Some people confuse meditation with prayer. Prayer is something during which you ask what you want. Meditation is something during which you listen to and get guidance from the Universe.
What Happens in Your Brain When You Meditate?
This is where things get really interesting. Using modern technology, scientists have developed a more thorough understanding of what’s taking place in our brains when we meditate. The overall difference is that our brains stop processing information as actively as they normally would. We start to show a decrease in beta waves, which indicate that our brains slows down the processing of information.
Meditation Practice
Plan to practice the habit of meditating 5 minutes after you wake up and 5 minutes before you go to bed. You really do not need any complicated mantras or process to get started with meditation. All you need is a focal point and notice an in volunteer function like breath.
Simple process of watching your breath could be a starting point. Sit comfortably in a chair, and light up a candle in front of you. Focus on the candle flame and notice your breath as you inhale and exhale. This will get you started on your meditation journey. Initially, it could be hard to focus your mind even for 30 seconds. Thoughts will pop into your mind and deviate your focus. This is quite normal, ignore the thought and try to bring your focus back to the candle flame and breath. When you meditate deeply, time flies. You would think you meditated for 10 minutes but actually you could have been meditating for 20 or 30 minutes. If you keep at it for a while, you can meditate for even up to an hour.

Benefits of meditation are enormous. You can get answers to challenges you are facing during your meditation. A calm mind can work faster than the mind that is disturbed, troubled and overwhelmed with the day to day activities. Speed is essential to anyone’s success.
